Out of Hours Child care

We have had to make changes to our Wraparound Care due to Covid restrictions so the following will apply until further notice:

We had been unsure as to whether we would be able to continue to offer wraparound care due to social distancing and the need to keep class ‘bubbles’ apart, however, the latest Government guidance states that schools should resume breakfast and after-school provision where possible.  They recognise that this will be logistically challenging for schools and we have to carefully consider how we can offer provision safely alongside our wider protective measures which includes keeping children within their ‘bubbles’ if possible.

We have reviewed our risk assessments and explored our options and are pleased to say that we will be able to offer breakfast club at the usual times of:

  • 7.45am to 8.45am for £2.50
  • 8.00am to 8.45am for £2.00

In order to adhere to social distancing guidance, breakfast club will be managed in a different way than previously. When you arrive at school, one parent/adult can walk your child onto the school premises to drop them off with staff who will be waiting at the rear hall door.  We must ask that parents observe social distancing on their journey to school and whilst on school premises at this time. Adults will not be allowed to enter the school building and payment for breakfast club must be made by parent pay.  Children must arrive no later than 8.15am and when they enter school they be asked to wash their hands and will then eat their breakfast in the school hall. Children will be grouped according to their class bubble and each bubble will sit at a different table.  They will be required to stay in their seats until the start of the school day, when they will then go to their respective classrooms.

We are also able to offer after school care, however, in order to keep within the Government guidelines and ensure the health and safety of pupils and staff, this will run differently than normal.  We will be offering care from the end of the school day until 5.00pm for a reduced cost of £5.00 and this will take place in the school hall instead of the nursery building in order to maintain social distancing and keep class ‘bubbles’ separate. We will be able to access the outdoor areas for different activities, however, we will not be able to provide any food so children would need to bring their own snack. This should be brought in a separate lunchbox which is able to be wiped with antibac by staff. As we have to restrict what children bring in from home, they will no longer be able to bring a change of clothes so will remain in their uniform.

Guidance states that parents are not allowed on site without a prior appointment so when you come to collect your child, we ask that you wait at the main gate at the top of the drive and children will be brought up to you at 5.00pm.  We would expect children to remain until 5.00pm however if parents need to change any pick up times, they must contact the office in good time (before 4.30pm) so we can bring children to the main gate.

Please note that children can no longer come to breakfast club on an ‘adhoc’ basis so all sessions now need to be booked in advance.
